Orange

Orange is a growing vibrant community of 48,000 people. The colour city is notable for its beautiful autumn colours, a variety of local eateries and cool climate wineries. Orange boasts fantastic scenery with scenic walking and mountain bike trails. Orange has direct flights to Sydney Melbourne and Brisbane and is a great place to visit and to live.

A great choice

Orange has a broard economy with sizeable mining, agriculture, horticulture, medical and government opportunities. Orange combines the best of a regional city lifestyle with the services and facilities of a major centre. Not many places in Australia combine a 5-10 minute commute to work, 4 distinct seasons and surrounding natural beauty with hatted restaurants, a University with a medical school and sizeable health precinct amongst other features.

Council

Council’s challenge is to facilitate Orange’s growth and development to allow the best possible lifestyle for its residents without leaving people behind or losing what makes us special. We need to aid housing availability and affordability for our growing city whilst ensuring we have adequate infrastructure, especially water and roads, to support such growth. Council needs to always demonstrate transparency and appropriate use of rate payer’s money. We must return the budget to surplus and avoid the Special Rate Variations requested by many neighboring councils.
